106,763 squares. That’s the extraordinary number our community reached together, unofficially exceeding the current record for the largest display of granny squares by over 6,000 pieces.

What began as a community fundraising initiative on World Cancer Day 2026 grew into something far bigger than anyone (especially our team) anticipated. Thank you to every single person who picked up a hook or needle. A special mention of thanks to those that donated wool and money towards this project.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

With well over 100,000 squares now collected, our next task is turning them into finished blankets. We are looking for volunteers with crochet or knitting experience to help join completed squares together.
