In a classy display of community and compassion, the Ruby Affair High Tea, hosted by Helderberg Hospice, took place at the Strand Town Hall on Sunday 25 May 2025. Celebrating their 40th anniversary with elegance and heart. The event was a resounding success, uniting the community in support of a noble cause: funding essential palliative care services.
Guests were welcomed by the ushers as they entered the Strand Town Hall. With the generosity of the community, Helderberg Hospice had various entertainers, VDH Brothers, Amir Van Rooyen, Mogamad Zayd Damon and a special ball room performance by Ethan Jansen and Amber Van Wyk. The guest enjoyed the afternoon tremendously, Sr Thandi Sililo, Nursing Services Manager from Helderberg Hospice, delivered a heartfelt and impactful keynote address that deeply moved the audience. With a blend of professional insight and personal compassion, she shed light on the wide range of care services the hospice offers. Her address powerfully conveyed the essence of Helderberg Hospice’s patient-centred approach, emphasising the holistic support provided to patients and their families during some of life’s most difficult times.
The gathering offered guests a chance to enjoy the afternoon with old and new friends while enjoying a selection of fine teas and delectable afternoon treats. More than just a festive occasion, the event honoured four decades of compassionate service and raised essential funds to support the ongoing work of the hospice
This event was a powerful reflection of the steadfast commitment of our team, volunteers, and supporters. United in purpose, Helderberg Hospice created a warm and compassionate space – bringing comfort, dignity, and support to those facing life-limiting illnesses when they need it most.
