The 2025 Helderberg Hospice Open Gardens Festival boasts 10 gardens in and around the Helderberg Region (including Somerset West and Strand, Western Cape). These unique, and lovingly manicured gardens provide a vibrant, yet tranquil place for visitors to enjoy. Take a stroll through these beautiful gardens and feel revived by the sense of calm and peace they have to offer.

Step into a world of colour, calm and community care with 2025 Open Gardens Festival, proudly hosted in support of Helderberg Hospice as they celebrate 40 years of compassionate and quality palliative care services in the Helderberg.
This ticket gives you access to a handpicked collection of private gardens that will be open to the public for one special weekend. Enjoy peaceful strolls through blooming spaces filled with inspiration, while helping us continue to provide quality palliative care to those who need it most.
Weekend access allows visitors into all the gardens on all 3 days, however, for security purposes, the map detailing the addresses of this year’s gardens will only be available from 09h00 on Friday 24th October 2025 at Helderberg Hospice.

Weekend Pass Prices
- Adults: R120 per person
- Scholars (under 18s): Free but must have a complimentary ticket registered online
- Pensioners: R90 per person
All prices are VAT inclusive and access tickets are valid for the entire weekend.

Important Information
- Visitors to the gardens are required to present their access tickets at Helderberg Hospice, 21 Old Stellenbosch Road, Somerset West to redeem their maps, which will give them access to all the private gardens, including our Garden of Remembrance at Helderberg Hospice. Maps can be collected between 09h00 and 16h00 on 24th, 25th or 26th October 2025. Maps will not be released before these dates for security reasons.
- Gardens are open on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October from 09h00 – 16h00 daily.
- Right of Admission is reserved.
- Tickets are non-refundable.
- Plants will be for sale with a variety of stalls available at Helderberg Hospice throughout the weekend.
- Regret no pets allowed on any properties.
- Visit the gardens at your own risk, Helderberg Hospice and the owners of the gardens are fully indemnified against all injury and/or loss that may occur during your visiting of the gardens during the Helderberg Hospice Open Garden days.

Directions from N2 direction Sir Lowry’s Pass
- Take Exit 43 for R44/Broadway Boulevard towards Stellenbosch/Somerset West.
- Turn right onto Broadway Boulevard/R44.
- Turn right onto Main Rd/M9.
- At the first traffic light turn left into Helderberg College Road.
- Turn right at Wingerd Road, (first right after the park).
- Turn right in Future Road, (Just before the T-Junction, gravel road)
- Use pedestrian gate as entrance.
Directions from N2 direction Cape Town
- Take Exit 43 for R44/Broadway Boulevard towards Stellenbosch/Somerset West.
- Turn Left onto Broadway Boulevard/R44.
- Turn right onto Main Rd/M9.
