Local businessman and cancer survivor, Johan Schoonhoven, marked World Cancer Day by donating R50 000 to Helderberg Hospice in support of their specialised care. The Schoonhovens recently moved to the Helderberg from Richard’s Bay where Mr Schoonhoven was instrumental in the development of a state-of-the art cancer treatment centre, the Richard’s Bay Medical Institute.
