The most beautiful gardens in and around the Helderberg (including Gordon’s Bay) will be open to the public on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November, 10h00 to 16h00, to benefit Helderberg Hospice. The peaceful Hospice garden is the core feature of the weekend, with teas and treats, plants for sale, an exhibition of all the entries to the recent Life in Full Focus photographic competition and a book table selling gardening books.  Visitors to the gardens must first come to Helderberg Hospice, 21 Old Stellenbosch Rd, to buy tickets at R50 a day or R80 for both days which will give them access to a variety of beautiful farm and town gardens. The 16 Open gardens feature roses, fynbos and indigenous plants, bonsai, the clever use of ground covers and dealing with the challenges of limited space, strong winds and gardening on a steep slope. Keen gardeners visiting eight or more gardens at the weekend stand a chance to win a R500 gift voucher from Benbel Home and Garden.
