Mandela Day is all about inspiration.
About encouraging citizens of the world to take up the challenge
and to follow in Madiba’s footsteps,
a man who transformed his life, his country and his people.
Individuals are encouraged to take action to help change the world for the better and in doing so, to build a global movement for good. It is in this way that we honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy. Any action, no matter how big or small, should consistently focus on the achievement or restoration of dignity and empowerment through contributions.
The question we must ask ourselves is, what can we do to make the world a better place? There is nothing stopping us from making every day a Mandela Day.
Just like Nelson Mandela, Helderberg Hospice believes that people matter until the very last moment of their lives, and at Hospice we will do all we can, not only to help patients pass peacefully, but to live until they breathe their last breath. Our passion for people encompasses not only our patients and their friends and families, but our entire Helderberg community.
All staff at Helderberg Hospice will dedicate their 67 minutes and by making contributions to the community we serve, on the day.
