The most beautiful gardens in and around the Helderberg will be open to the public on Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September, 9h00 to 16h00, to benefit Helderberg Hospice.
Visitors to the gardens must first come to Helderberg Hospice, 21 Old Stellenbosch Rd, Somerset West to buy tickets at R90 which will give them access to a variety of gardens, plus the Helderberg Hospice garden which includes the lovely Garden of Remembrance.
Tickets are available for purchase from Helderberg Hospice on Friday 7 September, 09h00 to 16h00 to Sunday 9 September, 09h00 to 16h00. We encourage visitors to get their tickets early on the Friday so that they have the full day on Saturday and Sunday to visit the open gardens. Come and get your tickets on the Friday, tour our lovely garden then relax with some tea and treats, and browse our interesting tables – there will be plants for sale, gardening books, and lots more.
Our focus this year is on water wise, indigenous gardens and the Open Gardens will feature an array of innovative ways that garden owners are making use of to cope with the drought.
Those visiting at least ten gardens at the weekend will receive a Benbel Home and Garden voucher worth R80 and also stand a chance to win a R500 gift voucher from Benbel.
Several of the gardens will be offering tea and eats, or make a stop at one of our recommended tea and lunch stops. There is food for the soul in all the gardens; come and relish the beauty of the gardens that grow in the shadow of the Helderberg, drink in the views and be revived by the peace of a place shared by others who care, not only for their plants, but also for the patients of Helderberg Hospice.
